Felix Abrahams Obi started his early career as a clinical physiotherapist and has worked in a variety of clinical settings in Nigeria (such as the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Enugu, General Hospital Benin City, National Orthopaedic Hospital Dala Kano, and National Orthopaedic Hospital Igbobi Lagos) before he veered into public health and development work.Between 2005 and 2010, he served as the Health Adviser and Gender Focal Person with the Nigeria Country Office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and participated in the implementation of Polio Immunization, HIV/AIDS, Malaria, TB, hospital management/quality improvement, and other public health programmes in Nigeria. He has provided technical consultancy services to the Federal Ministry of Health, International Development Agencies, NGOs and Foundations to support the inception, design and evaluation of public health interventions in Nigeria. He is the Abuja Liaison/ Research Uptake Officer for the Health Policy Research Group (in the College of Medicine, University of Nigeria Enugu Campus), under the RESYST project being coordinated by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.He is interested in the translation and use of research evidence to inform health policies and programmes. His research interests include health systems,policy analysis, healthcare management, health financing, global health and development, as well as prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, health promotion and wellness, health behaviour change management, etc.He co-edits the Nigeria edition of Africa Health Journal,and as an arts enthusiasts, he blogs, writes poems, short stories, and articles loves telling stories through photography.
